National Disability Insurance Scheme
New Age Physio is now fully registered under the national disability insurance scheme to provide physiotherapy and exercise physiology for eligible individuals who have approved funding under the scheme.
The NDIS is a government program launched in 2017 to assist those living with disability and allow individuals better access to the treatment and services they need to become more independent and better manage with their disability. The scheme allows for treatment with physiotherapists and exercise physiologists along with a range of other services including assistive technology, community services and support.
Physiotherapy treatment and exercise physiology under the NDIS can help with management and effects of symptoms associated with a number of neurological, spinal cord injury and developmental conditions.
Some of the requirements that may make an individual elibigle are listed on the NDIS website. Individuals who have an impairment or condition that is likely to be permanent and require lifelong support and where your impairment significantly effects your ability to participate effectively in activities or limits the ability to participatesocially and economically.
Those eligible under the NDIS can see a physiotherapist and we can submit a plan under the scheme to have funding approved. To see a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist you must have approved funding in place. Once you have seen your therapist a plan will be devised with suitable recommendations to determine allocation of that funding.
